But why has there been such a boom in audiobooks lately? It seems everyone knows someone who is listening to a great bestseller or recommending a must-listen audiobook. One answer: time. For grown-up bookworms, audiobooks are a lifesaver. They allow us to pursue our love of reading while juggling a million other priorities such as commuting, exercising or driving to pick up the kids from school. And the benefits of listening to audiobooks doesn’t stop there, with many of us choosing to put down our phones and listen to a story in order to channel some much-needed mindfulness.
